“Complete my joy…”
Philippians 2:1 “So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.”
I’ve been thinking how proud I am of the team we’ve brought together for this Purpose this week, here in China…How we have been assembled here together from three different continents, each bringing our unique gifts, and many of us having never even met until we landed here in China (Dr. Dave from Australia, Matthew, our amazingly brilliant young American translator who lives in Chongching, China, Dr. Tessa and her assistant from another town in Tennessee, and my own team from Brentwood, including my sons doing a little dentistry themselves), yet we’re bound by the same Spirit of Christ, for such a time as this, to bring hope and smiles to this sacred place, Maria’s Big House of Hope. From day one, our spirits have meshed and we’ve been able to work together like a well-oiled machine, in order to accomplish that which we were called here to do. It’s funny how God works…how He unites our hearts, and TOGETHER we can give, serve and love even greater. I know it must complete His joy to see this team having the same mind and the same love, being in full accord and of one mind, humbly counting others as more significant than themselves here in China this week…bringing HOPE and SMILES to these precious and beloved children of His.
I think about the body of Christ, and how there is a purpose for each and every part. Some of us are hands, some are feet, some eyes…we have different roles, but all of us are necessary to complete the work He’s called the body of Christ to do. I’m so humbled to be a part of this team here this week. “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.” 1 Peter 4:10
